ES1L-Electric Kick Scooter
The Segway Ninebot ES1L electric kick scooter is unique not only for being lightweight(just 24lbs), but also for the fact that its' seamless design has neatly hidden the wires you usually can see on an electric kick scooter. And, it has a color theme, which adds to its' stylish look. It has rated 250w battery(36v 5.1ah), and 500w max power. Its' hill rating is 7%, so it can ride hills with a small incline of slope. The battery takes about 3-4 hours to charge completely. It is rated IPX4 for water.
This escooter is included in Ninebot's S series of electric kick scooters, with the ES1, ES2, and ES4, being the other models. A notable feature of the S series is their lightweight design, and the battery on all models is located in the stem of the escooter. The ES1L is very similar to the ES1 model, except for its' tires. For all the S series models, a second external battery can be purchased and added to the outside of the stem battery, thus increasing the escooter's performance for both speed and distance. In all instances, the speed and distance is doubled, however, riding style, terrain, and rider weight can all influence the actual performance.
The external battery is quite easy to install, and, interestingly, it contains and becomes the escooter charge plug, once installed. For range, the ES1L is rated at 12.4 miles or 20km. The same for its' speed, 12.4 miles. There are three ride modes, basic for slow speed(3mph), standard(9mph), for mid range speed and top speed(12mph) The top speed will render less range, while the basic and standard speeds give more escooter distance. The ES1L is rated for 220lbs rider weight.
The tires are 8 inch, hollow, tubeless, honeycomb style, meaning you don't have to worry about a flat tire. This honeycomb style provides a better ride than a solid tire, and with the included front tire spring suspension, a bumpy ride is handled better than with a solid tire.
This model has two brake systems, a front electronic, and a rear pedal brake. A 2.5w led light is included for riding at dark, and can illuminate to 44 feet. Side deflectors are featured also. There is no app for this model.
The Segway Ninebot ES1L is suitable for short commuters, and those who only want to take short leisurely rides with their escooter.
